01 / The case

What if a school stopped collecting tuition over WhatsApp?

Context
Zuno is a concept exploration: we designed what an ERP for private schools in Peru could look like, for principals and admin teams who juggle spreadsheets, payment receipts sent over WhatsApp and the portal of SUNAT, Peru's tax authority.
Challenge
Collecting tuition this way means checking receipts one by one and reconciling payments by hand; every invoice is issued separately and grades live in another system. The concept had to cover that whole loop without asking the school to change how it works overnight.
Approach
We set out a multi-tenant platform: each school gets its own space, with its own data, users and settings. A Yape or card payment goes through Mercado Pago and issues the receipt in Nubefact, and the academic side follows how each school grades: the MINEDU letter scale or the 0–20 scale, configurable by course and term.

What the concept defines

  1. Tuition collection with Yape and cards, with every payment reconciled automatically.
  2. Electronic receipts and invoices issued after each payment, through Nubefact.
  3. Enrollment, grades and attendance, on the MINEDU letter scale or the 0–20 scale.
  4. Notices to families over WhatsApp and push notifications.
  5. Onboarding to set up each school, and a dashboard for school leadership.

What it shows

Zuno shows how we handle a system with many organizations on one foundation, online payments and Peruvian e-invoicing: architecture decisions worth getting right from the start when a business plans to offer its own software to many customers.
